I don't know what makes us go crazy when we hear the simple 6/8 beat in songs. What makes this beat such a hit? Has anyone got any clue as to what aspects of this beat is so catchy?
Any psychological explanations? In Sri Lanka you go anywhere you'd notice people moving their head to the groove each time a baila song is being played.
I want to know why???

6/8 is mathematically sound, then again every other beat is as well; but 6/8 is sound in a sense that applies to us at a sentimental level.. Also check out my blog at..

Hey Shane. Well I agree with the fact that it might be applying to us at the sentimental level. Probably it has some conditioned effect on the mind or mayb based on human body it's easy to move to the 6/8 grooves.. :) who knows.. Whatever it is Lankans Love this beat. No wedding goes by without it.
